Scouts’ Western Hoe Down Dance Dec. 5

Junior Girl Scout Troop 877 of St. James School, Red Bank, will hold a Western Hoe Down Dance Dec. 5 from 7-9 p.m. at Swimming River School, 220 Hance Ave., Tinton Falls. The event is for Scouts of the Red Bank, Tinton Falls, and Navy Earle Service Unit. It is part of the Girl Scouts’ Bronze Award project.

Attendees are asked to dress in Western attire and bring Texas-style foods such as tortilla chips. The troop is also sponsoring an art contest to decorate the hall, with the winner to be announced during the event. Scouts are also asked to bring a donation for shelter animals, such as cat food, dog food, old or new blankets, towels, toys, or mats. Troop 877 will take the donations to the Monmouth County SCPA in Eatontown, to complete the service part of the project.
