Wilentz, Goldman & Spitzer, Woodbridge, has announced that partners Stuart T. Cox Jr. and Barry A. Cooke and associate John P. Murdoch II have joined the firm’s Eatontown office at Meridian Center I, Two Industrial Way west.

The additions continue the expansion of services now offered in Eatontown, including trusts and estates, personal injury and professional negligence, and corporate and health law.

Cox, listed in "The Best Lawyers in America," joined the firm’s Woodbridge office in 1985, and will continue to focus his practice on estate and trust planning and administration, including related federal and New Jersey tax issues and probate procedures.

Cooke has been a member of the firm’s personal injury department since 2000 when his former firm merged with the Wilentz office. His practice focuses on personal injury, medical malpractice and professional malpractice litigation, with an emphasis on general negligence including motor vehicle as well as industrial-workplace accidents.

Murdoch concentrates his practice on corporate law and health law with an emphasis on business transactions affecting health care professionals.

America Heart Assoc., OSHA form alliance

The American Heart Association has announced an alliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) to help protect workers from heart disease and stroke.

The alliance was formed to ensure that workers receive the tools and information needed to prevent heart disease and stroke in the workplace, according to a press release.

Activities will include development of training and education about automated external defibrillator (AED) program implementation, training of OSHA personnel in the best practices to fighting heart disease and stroke, and forums to raise the awareness of the value of employee health and wellness programs and the use of AEDs in the workplace.
