The Jersey Shore Partnership will hold its eighth annual summer celebration June 14, at which time it will present the S. Thomas Gagliano Leadership Award to U.S. Sen. Frank Lautenberg and U.S. Rep. Frank LoBiondo. Both have been supporters of the partnership and instrumental in protecting the interests of the nation’s coastline. Both are also sponsors of the Coastal Restoration Act, which would mandate the federal government’s continued funding and support of beach restoration and nourishment projects.

Lautenberg served in the U.S. Senate for 18 years before retiring in 2000 and then winning election again two years later when asked by the Democratic Party to run. Rep. LoBiondo has served in Congress since 1995. The celebration, themed "New Jersey’s Coastline — 127 Miles of Gold," will be held at Fort Hancock on Sandy Hook. It will also celebrate Flag Day. Catholic Charities in Monmouth County, Red Bank, will hold its seventh annual summer gala, "An Enchanted Evening," June 10 at the Navesink Country Club, Navesink section of Middletown. The black tie-optional dinner-dance will feature dancing, dining, the music of Billy Lawlor, a 50/50 raffle, and gift auction. Nancy Graebe, Lincroft section of Middletown, is the chairwoman. Rumson resident Gloria Landy was recently chosen to represent the World Council of Conservative/Masorti Synagogues at the 57th annual Department of Public Information/Non-Governmental Organizations (DPI/NGO) conference Sept. 8-10 at the U.N. Headquarters, New York City, N.Y. Secretary-General Kofi A. Annan will address the NGO delegates at the conference, titled "Millennium Development Goals: Civil Society Takes Action." It will focus on the eight millennium development goals adopted by 189 U.N. members states in 2000. Landy also serves as chair of the registration committee and member of the conference planning committee.

Resources Real Estate, 811 River Road, Fair Haven, will present a free seminar for homeowners, "The Money Pit: Surviving a Home Remodel," May 22 beginning with coffee and refreshments at 9:45 a.m., and the seminar at 10 a.m.

The seminar will focus on issues such as remodeling, design solutions, and tax implications for the owner of a newly remodeled home. Speakers will include architect Roger Gardilla and Rumson tax assessor Peter Barnett.

Shrewsbury State Bank recently an­nounced three staff appointments. Loretta P. Anderson was named branch manager and assistant vice president at the bank’s new supermarket office at the Acme, Lincroft section of Middletown.

Prior to joining Shrewsbury State, she was at Trust Company Bank, Tinton Falls. A graduate of Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School, she is a member of the Eastern Monmouth Area Chamber of Commerce (EMACC).

Pamela Wescott-Arkenau was named assistant vice president at the bank’s main office in Shrewsbury. She has been an assistant branch manager in the main office since 1997, and was previously employed at Wachovia Bank. Wescott-A graduate of Springfield (Mass.) College, Arkenau is active in the Kiwanis Club of Greater Red Bank.

Nestor J. Roldan was named branch manager of the bank’s Red Bank office. Prior to joining Shrewsbury State, he served as a supervisor at Commerce Bank. A graduate of Seton Hall Univer­sity, South Orange, he is a member of the EMACC and the Latino Chamber of Commerce.
