U.S. Navy and Marine Corps shipmates who served on the USS Columbus CA-74/CG- 12 from1944 through 1976 and the USS Columbus (SSN-762), past and present, and would like to share memories and camaraderie with old friends and make new ones, should contact Allen R. English handbells to ring out in Red Bank

The Tower Hill Concert Series will present “An Evening of Handbells” 7 p.m. June 3 at The First Presbyterian Church at Red Bank, 255 Harding Road. Under the direction of Adam K. Peithmann, the Calvin and Chapel Ringers, who are students at area high schools, will play two five-octave sets of bronze bells (a total of 127 bells) and four octaves of choir chimes.

R.U. coach to speak at RBR fundraiser

The Red Bank Regional (RBR) Athletic Foundation will host a reception May 29 to kick off its “Let There Be Lights” campaign, which aims to bring lights to the RBR football field. The event, which includes canapés and refreshments, will take place 7 p.m. in the main lobby of Two River Theatre, 21 Bridge Ave. in Red Bank.

Red Bank Elks Lodge No. 233 will host an Elks Casino Night and Poker Tournament 6-11 p.m. June 23 at 40West Front St. in Red Bank. Tickets are $50 per person and include casino games, live music by DJ Joe McGrath, dinner and $100 in play money if purchased by June 1, or $50 in play money if purchased after June 1.
