      Gun violence extending to pets
           Quite a sad thing happened on my street last week. I found one of my pet cats lying in the driveway with a badly broken leg, the victim of a BB gunshot wound.       Praise for Preserve Rumson; plea to Parents for property
           Dr. Margaret Meade once said: "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed people can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has." The Preserve Rumson group is a living example of this famous quotation and how a small group of people can make a difference in their community.            Through this letter I would like to thank the people of the Tinton Falls community and everyone at Monmouth Regional High School very, very much for the outstanding kindness and helpfulness with which you treated me during my stay here as a high school foreign exchange student. I am well aware of the additional work that the exchange students mean to you. The fact that you still accept students from other countries is, I think, outstanding.

      Riverfest is good. Let’s make it great
