Conservation essay and poster contest now open

Entries are now being accepted for the 2001 Conservation Essay and Poster Contest "Conserving New Jersey’s Resources: Land – Water – Habitat." The contest is for students in Middlesex and Monmouth Counties and is designed to promote awareness and understanding of how human activity affects New Jersey’s natural resources.

The essay contest is open to students in three grade levels: 4-6, 7-8, and 9-12. The poster contest is open to students at four grade levels: 2-3, 4-6, 7-8 and 9-12. Contest deadline is April 6.

Statewide prizes include savings bonds for $50, $100 and $200, and winners will be honored at a ceremony in Trenton in May. Freehold Soil Conservation District local prices include savings bonds for $50, $75 and $100.
