The Tri-City Umpires Association will begin its cadet training program for new umpires at 7:15 p.m. on March 13 at the Port-Au-Peck Firehouse, Myrtle Avenue, in Oceanport. The training is at no charge and both experienced umpires as well as cadets are welcome to attend. Tri-City Umpires officiates all levels of baseball, as well as men’s and women’s softball in Monmouth and northern Ocean counties. The training sessions will be held on four consecutive Wednesdays, March 13, 20, 27 and April 3.
