      ~ Notes Around Town ~
           As of March 15, pay phones located at Blackberry Bay Park and borough hall in Oceanport will be removed. The phones, owned by Verizon, are not generating a profit or even covering costs. The borough does have an option to keep the phones at a cost of $65 per month per phone. Not finding that as a suitable solution, the council will look into an alternative vendor, but the consensus currently is that choosing another vendor may incur installation and setup charges. Concerned over the removal of the phone from Blackberry Bay Park, a councilman said that kids playing in the park may need access to a phone in the event of an emergency.
