Rumson resident named dentistry program director

Rumson resident Michelle E. Ziegler, D.D.S., has been named residency program director for the department of dentistry at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch.

Ziegler heads the dental residency program at Monmouth where residents earn the education, training, skills and experience needed to become capable and qualified practitioners, according to a press release.

Ziegler undertook her postdoctoral dental training in general practice at Lutheran Medical Center, Brooklyn, N.Y., where she served as chief resident. After completing her training, she was named to lead the general practice residency program, first as coordinator then as director, for seven years prior to joining Monmouth.

While pursuing her undergraduate and doctoral degrees, Ziegler spent 10 years as a dental hygienist in private practices throughout New York City.

She earned her doctor of dental surgery degree from New York University College of Dentistry, and a bachelor of science degree from Columbia School of Dental and Oral Surgery, New York. She received her dental hygiene degree from the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia.
