The Little Silver Turkey Bowl, benefiting Jason’s Dreams for Kids, will be held Nov. 30 at Sickles Field and Women’s Center in Little Silver. The 10-team round robin seven-on-seven touch football tournament and family fun day will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. (rain or shine), with the football tournament, a DJ, face painter, clowns and more. From 3-6 p.m., refreshments and more family-oriented activities will be held, including a buffet and awards ceremony. The cost is $50 per player and his family, and $20 per spectator family. Both the men’s and women’s course records were broken Sunday in spite of damp conditions at the second annual Navesink Challenge 15K road race, run on scenic country roads, hills and trails in Middletown. The race is put on by the Jersey Shore Running Club to benefit the Middletown Youth Athletic Association. Awards were presented to the top five men and women in 15K and 5K distances.

The 15K awards for the women went to Dorian Meyer of Rumson (61:32); Lynann Lorenz of Apalachin, N.Y., (64:09); Gina Sullivan of Rumson (67:30); Ann O’Dowd of Colts Neck (69:44); and Dawn Ciccone of Highlands (70:22).

The 15K awards for the men went to Elias DeOliveira of Long Branch (53:10); Gerard Pearlberg of Brielle (56:59); Dan Stafford of Howell (57:38); Matt McCormick of Fanwood (59:10); and John Hooper of Mount Holly (61:17).

The 5K awards for the women went to Bronawyn O’Leary of Cliffwood Beach (20:41); Bernadette Gatto of Middletown (23:04); Bethany Hagan of Morganville (23:47); Lisa Lewis of Rumson (24:45); and Melanie Armstrong of Atlantic Highlands (26:00).

The 5K awards for the men went to Mitchell Slater of Cliffwood Beach (17:17); Dan Petty of Pennington (18:09); Kenneth Vercammen of North Brunswick (18:30); Christopher King of Orange (19:18); and Chris Wilcox of Wall (20:15).

The Jersey Dreamers 18U baseball team is looking for two players, including a high quality pitcher, to complete their 2003 roster. Plan to attend Pony Nationals and college showcase tournaments.
