RAYMOND D. "BUDDY" WILLIAMS, 79, of Red Bank died Nov. 22 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. He was born in Middletown. He was a part-time code enforcement officer for the Borough of Red Bank. Prior to that, he worked for the Borough of Little Silver, retiring in 1991, and at American Smelting Company, Perth Amboy for 20 years, retiring in 1971. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a charter member of the Greater Red Bank NAACP, and 50-year member of the IBPOE, Bates Lodge, Red Bank. He served on the Red Bank Board of Education, was a 9th District county committeeman as a Democratic leader until 1999, and a member of the Red Bank Republican Club and Red Bank Democratic Club. He was also a longtime member of the New Jersey Boarding Home Committee. He enjoyed yachting and spending time by the river at his home. He is survived by two daughters, Shirleyrae Williams Reed of California, and Goya Qualls of Texas; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. DOROTHY M. RAFFERTY, 89, of Little Silver died Nov. 26 at St. Barnabas Hospice, Long Branch. Born in New York City, she was a lifelong resident of Little Silver. She was a homemaker. She was a communicant of St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. She served as president of the Red Bank Women’s Club, and was a member of the St. James PTA, Red Bank. She was predeceased by her husband, Michael J. Rafferty in 1983; and a daughter, Gail Csipkay in 1988. She is survived by four daughters, Joan Coon of Ludlow, Mass.; Patricia Rafferty of Little Silver; Susan Rafferty of Alexandria, Va.; and Margaret Sloane of Thornton, N.H.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. Interment was at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown. MARY K. KLUKA GORMALLY, 87, of East Greenwich, R.I., and formerly Rumson, died Nov. 28 at South County Hospital, Wakefield, R.I. Born in Sharon, Pa., she had resided in Rumson for almost 50 years before moving to East Greenwich. Mrs. Gormally worked at Mentor Antiques, North Kingstown, R.I., with her late husband. Prior to that, she was a registered nurse and private duty nurse in Maryland, Rhode Island, and Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. She was a long-time parishioner of Holy Cross Church, Rumson, and St. Bernard’s Church, North Kingstown. Her activities included travel, cooking, poetry, genealogy and gardening. She was predeceased by her husband, James F. Gormally, in 2000. She is survived by three sons, James Gormally of Silver Spring, Md., Patrick Gormally of Litchfield, Conn., and Charles Gormally of Mountain Lakes; her daughter, Marry Gormally of North Kingstown; and five grandchildren.

ANN NOLAN FYFE, 78, of Middletown died Dec. 5 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Middletown, she was a lifelong resident. Mrs. Fyfe was a secretary at Bell Laboratories, Holmdel, where she worked for 15 years before her retirement. Prior to that, she worked at Bendix Aviation Corp., Eatontown. She was a communicant of St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. Her memberships included the Telephone Pioneers of America, and the Over 50 Club at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth section of Middletown. Mrs. Fyfe was predeceased by her husband, Leslie Fyfe; and two brothers, Thomas J. Nolan Jr. and James P. Nolan. She is survived by two sisters, Mary Ruck of Middletown and Margaret Ellison of Little Silver; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. James Church. Interment was at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.

VIVIAN R. KEHRER, 88, of Shrewsbury died Dec. 5 at The Sycamore, Shrewsbury. Born in Rock Tavern, N.Y., she had resided in Eatontown before moving to Shrewsbury. Mrs. Kehrer worked for the U.S. Postal Service for many years before retiring. She was predeceased by her husband of more than 50 years, Richard "Bing" Kehrer. She is survived by two nieces, Patty Powell and Linda Gage. Interment was at Woodbine Cemetery, Eatontown.

RALPH G. ADAMS, 87, of Tinton Falls died Dec. 3 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Needham, Mass., he resided in Tinton Falls for more than 40 years. He was an electrical engineer at Bendix Corp., Eatontown, for 42 years, retiring as director of quality control in 1981. He was a 1938 graduate of MIT, Cambridge, Mass. He attended St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth section of Middletown. He is survived by his wife, Grace McCreesh Adams of Tinton Falls; a stepdaughter, Anne Cyriacks of the Belford section of Middletown; a stepson, Michael Hilger of Middle Island, N.Y.; a sister, Muriel Gatto of Needham, Mass.; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth. Burial was at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.

EUGENE W. SODEN, 84, of Freehold died Nov. 18 at The Manor, Freehold Township. Born in Spring Lake Heights, he was a lifelong resident of Freehold. He was the owner of M&S Oil Heating, Freehold, retiring in 1978. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1942 to 1945 as a flight instructor in combat training, and was a member of the Navy League, World War II Glider Pilots Association. He was a member of the board of trustees of First Baptist Church of Freehold; a 45-year member and past president of the YMCA board of trustees; a member and past president of the Freehold Borough/Freehold Township Lions Club; and served on the Freehold Borough Housing Authority. He was predeceased by a brother, Edward. He is survived by his wife, Ruth (Chickie) Soden; three daughters and a son-in-law, Barbara Palant of Ocean Township, Linda Soden of Tinton Falls, and Ellen and Michael Camacho of Lakeville, Mass.; a sister, Clare Machu of Farmingdale; a grandson; and several nieces and nephews. ANNA SMERIGA RAC, 88, of Perth Amboy died Nov. 12 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy division. Her husband, John Rac, died in 1977. Surviving are two daughters, Alice Dornish of Bethlehem, Pa., and Jean Rac-Wuensch of Montclair; a son, Ronald J. Rac of Rumson; a sister, Mary Heveri of Rahway; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A service was held at St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, Perth Amboy. Interment was in St. Nicholas Cemetery, Hopelawn.
