Five senior citizens recently graduated as the first class of the "Intergenerational Child Care Training Project," a new preschool aide training program at Brookdale Community College’s Asbury Park Education Resource Center.

Maria Seguel, Long Branch, and Norma Orsulak, Fair Haven, were the local residents who graduated from the five-week collaborative program developed by Brookdale and funded by the National Council on Aging.

Seguel will be working at The Little Class day care center, Neptune, where she completed her internship for the training program.

Orsulak is a retired television editor for the Asbury Park Press, who wanted to do something different as a second career. She plans to work full time in day care.
