Mrs. Schlosser, 87, of Middletown died March 18. Born in Newark, she resided in Red Bank prior to moving to Middletown several years ago. She was a receptionist at United Teletech, Tinton Falls, before her retirement. Prior to that, she was secretary to the president at Gray and Roger Advertising Agency, Newark, and secretary to the commissioner of the Department of Parks and Public Property in Irvington. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church at Red Bank–Tower Hill. Mrs. Schlosser was predeceased by her husband, Irwin Schlosser, in 1985. She is survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Interment was at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown. The John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank, was in charge of arrangements. Pietro Russo

Mr. Russo, 85, of Holmdel died March 6 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Bagnoli Irpino, Italy, he had resided in Jersey City before moving to Holmdel seven years ago. He was a butcher for Tuscany Co., Union City, where he had worked for 25 years before retiring. Mr. Russo was predeceased by a daughter, Grace Chieffo. Surviving are his wife, Gelsomina Chieffo Russo; two daughters and sons-in-law, Catherine and Charles Stean of Red Bank, and Pierina and John Gazonas of Florida; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. A funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth section of Middletown, followed by entombment at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown. The John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown, was in charge of arrangements.

Joseph T. Vanni

Mr. Vanni, 84, of South Amboy died March 1 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy division. Prior to his retirement in 1979, he was employed for 33 years as supervisor and inventory management specialist at Fort Monmouth. Surviving are his wife, Marie Penta Vanni; a son, Thomas Vanni of South Amboy; a daughter, Lorraine Easton of Bridgewater; a brother, Francis Vanni, and two sisters, Mary Vanni and Anna Vanni, all of South Amboy; a granddaughter; two step-grand­children; and many nieces and nephews. A Mass was offered at St. Mary’s Church, South Amboy. Entombment was in the church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary’s Church.

Jean Rose McCloskey

Mrs. McCloskey, 68, of Red Bank died March 22 at Meridian Nursing and Rehabilitation, Red Bank. She resided in Highlands prior to moving to Red Bank three years ago. Mrs. McCloskey was predeceased by a brother, Stanley Wojdylak. She is survived by a son, Richard C. McCloskey Jr. of Asbury Park; and three brothers, Mark Davis of New York City, and George Wojdylak and John Wojdylak, of Clovis, Calif. A memorial service will be held at a later date; the John E. Olga Schwenker Doremus

Mrs. Doremus, of Fair Haven, died March 16 at Meridian Rehabilitation Center, Red Bank. She was the retired owner of Superior Color Co., New York City. Prior to that, she was a solo ballerina with the Metropolitan Ballet, New York City. She was a lifetime member of the First Presbyterian Church at Red Bank–Tower Hill, where she was also active in new-member classes and ministered to shut-ins. She was a member of the Vassa Society. Mrs. Doremus was predeceased by her husband, Dr. Percy Doremus, in 1956. She is survived by six nephews. Interment was at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown. The John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank, was in charge of arrangements.
