Obituaries
Mrs. Boyington, 81, of Oceanport died May 15 at home. She resided in Long Branch prior to moving to Oceanport in 1952. Mrs. Boyington was a telephone operator at New Jersey Bell, AT&T, and Bell Atlantic, retiring in 1983. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers; Order of the Eastern Star, Red Bank; and the Long Branch Senior Citizens. She enjoyed traveling with her family. Mrs. Boyington was predeceased by her husband, William H. Boyington, in 1998; two brothers, Charles and Russell Lynch; and two sisters, Evelyn Soma and Alice Yancis. Surviving are two sons and one daughter-in-law, William Boyington, and John and Barbara Boyington, all of the Wanamassa section of Ocean Township; a sister, Margaret of Wall Township; three grandsons; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Entombment was at Woodbine Cemetery, Oceanport. The Braun Funeral Home, Eatontown, was in charge of arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to Oceanport First Aid Squad, P.O. Peggy Blake Hession
Mrs. Hession, 84, of Tinton Falls died May 6 at her residence at The Atria, Tinton Falls. Born in Jersey City, she resided in Atlantic Highlands and Red Bank prior to moving to Tinton Falls eight years ago. Mrs. Hession was a private tutor and ballet teacher. Prior to that, she taught at the Ranney School, Tinton Falls, during the 1960s. She was predeceased by her husband, Eugene F. Hession Sr., in 1987; and a daughter, Frances Hession, in 1991. Surviving are two sons, John J. Hession of Copiague Harbor, N.Y., and Dr. Eugene F. Hession Jr. of Long Branch; two daughters, Peggy Gene Thom of Daytona Beach, Fla., and Marybeth Flaschbart of Eagle, Idaho; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. Interment was at Calvary Cemetery, Queens, N.Y. The John E. Rita Elizabeth Harrison Oberdick
Mrs. Oberdick, 88, of the New Monmouth section of Middletown, died June 3 at home. Born in Newark, she resided in New Monmouth since 1954. She was a homemaker. She was a communicant of and member of the Altar Rosary Society at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth. She was also a member of its Over 50 Club, Wednesday Lunch Club, and Middletown Bridge Club. She was predeceased by her husband, William Oberdick, in 1962. She is survived by five sons and four daughters-in-law, William J. and Barbara Oberdick of Cleveland, Ohio, Ronald J. Oberdick of New York City, James and Jan Oberdick of Middletown, Robert and Barbara Oberdick of Bridgewater, and Michael J. Harrison of Ocean Grove; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kathleen M. and John Byrnes of Washington, D.C., and Patricia Ann and Thomas Connolly of Red Bank; a sister and brother-in-law, Dolores and Robert Tanner of Princeton Junction; a brother, James Harrison of New Port Ritchey, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Mary’s Church. Burial was at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown. Arrangements were by John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. Jean Sampson Cybulski
Mrs. Cybulski, 73, of South River, formerly of East Brunswick, died May 22 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. Her husband, Joseph F. Cybulski, died in 1997. Surviving are two daughters, Roxanne Maxson of South River and Bernadette Epperson of Houston; two sons, Joseph Cybulski of Long Branch and Mark Cybulski of South River; two sisters, Joan Testen of Sayre, Pa., and Florence Grivner of Wilkes-Barre, Pa.; a brother, William Sampson of Maryland; and seven grandĀchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Old Bridge. Interment was in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, East Brunswick.
Blanche Coryell Catelli
Mrs. Catelli, of Little Silver, died June 1 at St. Barnabas Hospice Unit at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Born in Frenchtown, she resided there before moving to Little Silver. Mrs. Catelli was the former business manager, with her daughter Carol, at Capricorn Eye, Little Silver. Prior to that, she co-owned Antiques & Treasures, Rumson, with her daughter Janice Brennan, and worked at Fanny Farmer Candies, Red Bank. She was a communicant of Rumson Presbyterian Church. She was predeceased by her husband, Theodore E. Catelli; and a son, Ronald T. Catelli. She is survived by two daughters, Carol L. Granato of Pennington and Janice A. Brennan of Rumson; a sister, Thelma Smith of Burlington; a daughter-in-law, Sharon Catelli; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Interment was at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown. Robert L. Clark
Mr. Clark, 72, of Hazlet died June 2 at Arnold Walter Nursing Home, Holmdel. Born in Passaic, he resided in Asbury Park and Fair Haven prior to moving to Hazlet in 1994. He was an appliance salesman at A&S Stores, Eatontown, for eight years, retiring in 1990. Prior to that, he was employed at Anderson TV and Appliance, Red Bank, for 10 years. He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He is survived by a son, Richard J. Clark of Indian Rocks Beach, Fla.; two sisters, Joan O’Brien and Patricia Brennan, both Hazlet; and one granddaughter. Burial was at Shoreland Memorial Park, Hazlet. Arrangements were by John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown.
