      Volunteers sought for restoration project

      Poricy Park, Oak Hill Road, Middletown, is seeking volunteers to plant 13 acres of former pasture with warm-season grasses and wildflowers to create habitat for threatened grassland bird species. The date for the first stage of the project is March 20.

      The project is being conducted with assistance from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service through its “Partners for Wildlife” program. The fields for the project have been mowed and now need to cleared of dead wood and branches before the ground can be readied for planting.
