Walter P. Lynch
Mr. Lynch, 28, of Jackson, died Oct. 23 from injuries received in a car accident. Born in Red Bank, he had lived most of his life in Middletown before moving to Jackson one year ago. A 1996 graduate of Middletown High School North, Mr. Lynch was a driver for Puglisi Egg Farms, Howell. Surviving are a daughter, Kiley Rose Lynch of Middletown; his parents, Walter and Denise Lynch of Jackson; and a sister and brother, Tracy Ann Lynch and Joseph E. Lynch, both of Jackson. A funeral gathering will be held Oct. 27 at 9:30 a.m. at the John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, 115 Tindall Road, Middletown, followed by a funeral liturgy at 10:15 a.m. at St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church, Keansburg. Burial will take place at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown.
Gregory N. Caffyn
Mr. Caffyn, 34, of Howell, died suddenly Oct. 9 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. He was an organ donor. Originally from Oceanport, he had resided in Howell for the past five years. A graduate of Oceanport Grammar School and Shore Regional High School, West Long Branch, Mr. Caffyn was employed as a warehouse manager for the MGM Paper Co. in Hamilton. He was a communicant of St. Mary of the Lake Roman Catholic Church, Lakewood. An avid New York Giants and New York Mets fan, he also loved cooking and going fishing. Mr. Caffyn is survived by his wife, Maureen Meyers Caffyn; two sons, Gregory Robert, 5, and Kaden Daly, 2; his parents, Michael Sr. and Anne Nelson Caffyn of Oceanport; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Michael and Kris Caffyn of Manahawkin, and Daniel Caffyn of Oceanport; three uncles and two aunts, Edgar C. Caffyn of Oceanport, godparents William C. and Barbara Caffyn of Mays Landing, and Milton and Joyce Caffyn of Eatontown; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Robert and Linda Meyers; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Debbie and Bob Compton of Manalapan; two nieces; two nephews; and many cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at the Church of the Precious Blood, Monmouth Beach, followed by interment at Mount Carmel Cemetery, West Long Branch. The Braun Funeral Home, Eatontown, was in charge of arrangements. Grace A. McCreesh Adams
Mrs. Adams, 76, of Tinton Falls, died Sept. 30 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Born in Jersey City, she resided there and the Belford section of Middletown, prior to moving to Tinton Falls in 1983. She was a librarian assistant at Brookdale Community College, Lincroft section of Middletown, from 198-92. Prior to that, she was an executive secretary at Allied Signal, Eatontown, where she was employed 24 years. She enjoyed ceili dancing, and was a student of the Irish language. She was predeceased by her husband, Ralph in 2002. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Pamela Hilger of Middle Island, N.Y.; a daughter and son-in-law, Anne and Jay Cyriacks of Belford; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. A funeral liturgy was held at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth section of Middletown. Burial was at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown. Arrangements were by John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown.
Liam C. McClelland
Mr. McClelland, 26, of Toms River, died Oct. 17 at home. Born in Red Bank, he resided in Middletown Township prior to moving to Toms River three months ago. He was a carpenter and commercial fisherman at MI-JO, Atlantic Highlands, as well as several other area boats. He was a graduate of Middletown High School North. He was a communicant of St. Catherine’s Roman Catholic Church, North Middletown. He was a member of the Sons of the Legion at American Legion Post No. 338, Leonardo section of Middletown. He enjoyed surfing, fishing and snowboarding. He was predeceased by his father, William “Pete” McClelland in 2004. He is survived by his mother, Catherine McClelland of Toms River; two brothers, Shamus McClelland of Middletown, and Al McClelland of Murphysboro, Tenn.; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. A funeral liturgy was held at St. Catherine’s Church. Arrangements were by John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown.
