Leak sidetracks school bus

RUMSON — The Helfrich Bus Co. reported on Nov. 3 at 8:26 a.m. that one of its school buses serving the Rumson school district was experiencing a fuel leak. At the time, the bus was on Sycamore Lane in Rumson.

The borough police and fire company were dispatched to the scene.

Eight students who attend Deane Porter or Forrestdale schools were removed from the bus and transported without incident to school by another Helfrich bus.

Helfrich Bus Co. sent mechanics who repaired the bus at the scene.
