Group of local poets to launch second anthology
The book consists of more than 500 entries, and its cover is a picture of “Liberty Triumphant,” the statue of the lady with the chipped nose at Monmouth County Courthouse, Freehold. Included in the anthology are light verse poetry, tributes to Kate Walker, Sandy Hook’s female assistant lighthouse keeper; the Twin Lights of the Navesink; and beaches and Shore towns. Red Bank Rotary to award three scholarships
Red Bank Rotary has announced it will begin its annual scholarship grant process March 1, with three scholarships in the amount of $2,000 to be awarded in May to a noteworthy student from Red Bank Regional High School, Rumson-Fair Haven High School and Red Bank Catholic High School. A list of candidates will be submitted to the Rotary’s scholarship committee by each school, and candidates will be judged on the basis of academic achievement, participation in school and community activities, the need for financial aid, and results of an oral interview with the Rotary’s scholarship committee.
