Oceanport Borough Clerk Patty Varca will retire on March 31, after serving the borough for 30 years. A retirement party will be held on April 3 at the Channel Club in Monmouth Beach from 5-9 p.m.

Tickets are $45 and include appetizers, a buffet and a gift. There will be a cash bar.

Monmouth County DOVIA (Directors of Volunteers in Agencies) will be awarding a $750 scholarship in 2005 to a high school senior from Monmouth County who has demonstrated a commitment to community service.

Students at Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School recently founded the Ronald McDonald House Junior Board and the group is raising money for the house.

The board is planning a charity fashion show, “Spring Forward,” which is planned for March 31.

Prices for the tickets are $30, with $20 tickets available for students. All checks may be payable to the Ronald McDonald House, c/o Nikki Schneider at 75 Bellevue Ave., Rumson, 07760.

Dr. Donald E. Erwin, clinical director of the eating disorders program, Monmouth Psychological Associates, will present “Get Real: Unmask the Problem,” a free workshop about eating disorders and how they are treated.

The workshop will be held on March 5 from 10:30 a.m. to noon in the Riverview Terrace Building, located at 103 East Front St., Red Bank. This public information forum is being hosted in recognition of National Eating Disorders Week, Feb. 27 through

March 5.

The 13th annual Rumson Run, “Running for Education,” will take place on May 1, at the Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School Borden Stadium.

The Education Committee of the Monmouth County Genealogy Society will present the “Ethnic Research: Italian and German” genealogy workshop on Saturday, March 19, at 9 a.m. (German) and 1 p.m. (Italian).

The workshop will take place at the Eatontown Community Center at 68 Broad St. in Eatontown.

The cost for members for one lecture is $13 and $25 for all day. Nonmembers for one lecture is $15 or $30 for all day.

The Red Bank Rotary announced that it is embarking on its annual scholarship process on March 1. Three scholarships, each in the amount of $2,000 will be awarded in May to a noteworthy students from each of Red Bank Regional High School, Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School and Red Bank Catholic High School.
