BoatU.S. Foundation for Boating Safety & Clean Water, Alexandria, Va., is seeking new locations to act as lending sites for its free life jacket loaner program.
More than 75,000 life jackets are loaned out annually through the program. There is no cost to become a loaner site. The life jacket kit consists of 12 jackets in a protective container, signage, and sign-out sheets.
Applications may be obtained online at www.BoatUS.com/Foundation/LJLP. The application deadline is Feb. 21.
Little Silver Woman’s Club dinner meeting Feb. 2
The Little Silver Woman’s Club will hold a dinner meeting Feb. 2 at 6:30 p.m. at Fort Monmouth Officer’s Club, Eatontown.
Following the meeting, members will wrap cookies and candies for a local senior center for Valentine’s Day.
The club’s home life chairman, Dorothy Lentini, wishes to thank all who donated costume jewelry for the Human Services Division of the New Jersey Developmental Disabilities Center.

Camp volunteers needed for MDA summer camp
The Muscular Dystrophy Association in Shrewsbury is seeking summer camp volunteer counselors to help young people with neuromuscular diseases enjoy a fun-filled MDA summer camp that runs from Aug. 20-26 at Vision Camp in Spring Valley, N.Y.
Volunteers must be at least 18 years old and able to lift and care for a young person between the ages of 6 and 21. Each counselor becomes a companion to a camper with a neuromuscular disease. They help campers with daily activities such as eating, bathing and dressing and recreational activities such as arts and crafts, swimming and horseback riding.
The camp is free and serves more than 4,000 campers nationwide in about 90 week-long sessions. Last year, over 4,700 volunteers helped make it all possible. The programs are funded almost entirely by individual contributors.

Rebecca’s Reel Quilters to meet Feb. 5
Rebecca’s Reel Quilters of Poricy Park, Oak Hill Road, Middletown, will hold its next guild meeting Feb. 5 at 2 p.m. at the park’s annex building.
The programs will be “Finishing Touches,” and will teach how to prepare a quilt for a show, and “Part II — Squaring Up, Borders & Troubleshooting.” Attendees should bring problem quilts. Fee is $3, and free for members.

‘Restoration of Quilts’ at Longstreet Farm Jan. 21
Historic Longstreet Farm, Longstreet Road, Holmdel, will host “Restoration of Quilts” Jan. 21 from 1-3 p.m.
Textile artist Tracy Jamar will share her expertise in the restoration of quilts. Her work can be found in several major museums, such as the American Folk Art Museum. Cost is $15 per person, and registration is required.
