Doris Marie Gallagher

Mrs. Gallagher, 83, of Brick, died Jan. 16 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Born in Hoboken, she was formerly of Brooklyn, N.Y., and had resided in Brick for 27 years. Prior to retiring, she was employed as a medical assistant for Dr. Murray Krone in Brooklyn for 20 years. She was a member of the Breezy Point Surf Club, Far Rockaway (Queens), N.Y.; a former president of the Greenbriar Bowling League, Brick; and a volunteer at the former Point Pleasant Hospital. She was also an active member of JPMorgan Chase & Co.’s Vestive Vultures, of which her husband was one of the founding fathers. Mrs. Gallagher was predeceased by her husband, William Gallagher, in 1987; a son, William Gallagher Jr.; and a son-in-law, James Camilleri in 2000. Surviving are two daughters and a son-in-law, Diane Camilleri, and Doris and Michael Buhler of Tinton Falls; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A funeral service was held at the John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank, followed by interment at Long Island National Cemetery, Farmingdale, N.Y.

Steven Gosewisch

Mr. Gosewisch, 51, of Ocean Township, died Jan. 12 at home. Born in Flushing, N.Y., he resided in Denville, and the Elberon area of Long Branch prior to moving to Ocean Township. He was a music teacher at Howell High School for 30 years, and recipient of the Teacher of the Year Award in 1992. He was also associate conductor of the Monmouth Symphony Orchestra. He was a member of the New Jersey Music Educators Association, and New Jersey Educators Association. He was predeceased by his mother, Helene in 1972. He is survived by his father and stepmother, Arthur and Rae Gosewisch of Wilmington, N.C.; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Carol and Andrew Strayer of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Barbara Gosewisch of Lake Hopatcong; and one nephew. A funeral service was at Point Pleasant Presbyterian Church. Interment was at Restland Memorial Park, East Hanover. Arrangements were by Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, Freehold Township.
