Rumson artist exhibits at Oceanic Library
“Blue Bib Jeans” by Michael Horn
An exhibit of works by Rumson artist Michael Horn will be at the Oceanic Library in Rumson through March.
A reception with the artist will be held March 4 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The exhibit showcases 76 works including sculpture, ceramics, paintings, landscapes and portraits.
After retiring from a career as a graphic designer and art director, Horn turned to exploring various media in the fine arts at his studio in Rumson.
The use of bold brush strokes on simple compositions tends to lend an unlabored and fresh look to his paintings.
Horn has won numerous awards in solo and group exhibits at the Art Alliance in Red Bank, the Monmouth County Arts Council juried show, the Guild of Creative Art in Shrewsbury and the Brookdale Community College Alumni Art Show. His work hangs in private collections throughout the country.
Hours at the Oceanic Library, located at Avenue of the Two Rivers and Ridge Road, are Monday and Thursday, 1-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.; Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information, call the library at (732) 842-2692.
