Illies MouhmoudIllies Mouhmoud On Saturday, May 13, at 7 p.m., customers at Ten Thousand Villages, 69 Broad St., Red Bank, can meet Illies Mouhmoud, master silversmith from Niger, West Africa, who uses traditional techniques to create the Tuareg silver jewelry sold at the store.

The store, which sells fairly traded products hand-crafted by skilled artisans in Africa, Asia and Latin America, creates crosscultural connections between artisans and consumers by inviting artisans from around the world to visit the store, to demonstrate their craft and to share their story and life experiences with customers. The Shrewsbury Community Alliance for the Prevention of Drug and Alcohol Abuse, along with the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office, Shrewsbury and Little Silver police departments, will hold a Youth and Alcohol Town Hall meeting at the Shrewsbury Borough School, 20 Obre Place, 7-8:30 p.m., May 16. The event is open to all parents (no children, please) including but not limited to Shrewsbury, Little Silver and Red Bank.

Glad Tidings Church at 4012 Asbury Ave., Tinton Falls, will host a talk by Theresa Greenhough (formerly Sister Theresa D'Souza) on Tuesday, May 23, at 7 p.m. Greenhough served as a nun in the Loreto Convent in India for 15 years and is the president of Gateway International in India.
