Community Bulletin Board Fishing tourney to benefit Jason's Dreams
The Hi-Mar Striped Bass Tournament will be held on Saturday, June 3, to benefit Jason's Dreams for Kids, Red Bank, which helps children suffering from catastrophic illness. There is a $100 entry fee for the tourney, to be held at Twinlights Marina, Highlands. Registration is June 2, beginning at 5:30 p.m., at the marina on Shrewsbury Avenue.
Preregister by mail to Hi-Mar Striper Club, PO Box 1021, Belmar, NJ 07719. Fish caught can be donated to Fishermen for the Hungry, which will process the catch and donate it to the FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties. Atlantic Yacht Sales, Sea Bright, will donate a Wellcraft boat and trailer valued at $25,000 to the lucky fisherman who breaks the world record for striped bass. IGFA rules apply. Rumson Garden Club plant sale May 13
The Rumson Garden Club will hold its annual plant sale May 13 from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. at Rumson Borough Hall, 80 E. River Road (rain or shine).
The sale will feature approximately 800 plants grown by club members, including heirloom perennials, and annuals. Vases and baskets of fresh-cut flowers will also be available, and club members will be on hand to answer questions. Proceeds benefit the club's civic projects, as well as a scholarship for a Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School senior.

AFS Info Night at libraries during May
Red Bank Public Library, 84 W. Front St., will host AFS Info Night May 11 at 7 p.m. AFS is an international student exchange organization. An information session will also take place May 16 and 23 at 7:30 p.m. at the Tinton Falls Public Library, 664 Tinton Ave.
