      Domestic violence response training slated

      The nonprofit 180 Turning Lives Around Inc., Hazlet, will conduct 40-hour certification training for Domestic Violence Response Team (DVRT) volunteers, ages 18 and older. The sessions will be held evenings at the Monmouth County Police Academy, Kozloski Road, Freehold Township, beginning May 30 and ending June 28.

      Volunteer advocates work in conjunction with the police to provide support, information and referrals to victims of domestic violence at police headquarters. The mandatory training course will be provided to successful applicants. Applicants must have access to transportation, possess a valid driver's license, be willing to serve on an on-call shift basis, and submit to background investigations and fingerprinting.
