      David Kelley, Tinton Falls, was recently honored at the Programs Rooted in Developing Excellence (PRIDE) Program for academic and leadership excellence at the L.C. Smith College of Engineering and Computer Science at Syracuse (N.Y.) University. Kelley is a junior majoring in computer science.

      Alex J.S. Feldman, Red Bank, a senior at Christian Brothers Academy, Lincroft section of Middletown, has been chosen as a winner of a 2006 National Merit $2,500 Scholarships. Students were chosen based on a combination of accomplishments, skills, and potential for success in college studies. Feldman's probable career field is journalism.

      The Monmouth County Fair Housing Board and Board of Chosen Freeholders has announced the sixth-grade winners of its annual fair housing poster contest, with winning entries to be featured in the 2007 calendar honoring National Fair Housing Month in April.

      Honorable mention winners that received a $100 savings bond were:

      Roxana Hernandez and Akeira Pines, both Red Bank and students at Red Bank Middle School.

      Nathalia Vieira, Tinton Falls, received a bachelor's degree in business administration-international business at the spring commencement exercises at Berkeley College, West Paterson.

      Garret Gilbert, Tinton Falls, has been named to Pi Sigma Alpha National Political Science Honor Society at Fairleigh Dickinson University, Madison.

      Christian Brothers Academy, Lincroft section of Middletown, recently held its annual LaSalle Mass during which achievement awards were presented to seniors. Local seniors presented with achievement awards for excellence in respective disciplines were:

      Alex J.S. Feldman, Red Bank, The Brother John Halpin Award for General Excellence, The Bishop George W. Ahr Award for Religious Studies - Next in Merit, The Brother Albert Bernard McKenna Award for English, The John C. Henderson Award for Mathematics, The Dr. George Sheehan Jr. Award for Science, and The Peter E. Fleming Award for History;

      Jonathan W. Rich, Shrewsbury, The Christian Brothers Award for Religious Service, and The John B. Higgins Award for French; and

      Ryan G. Horan, Shrewsbury, The Dr. George Sheehan Jr. Award for Science - Next in Merit.
