      Feds' name for sweep insensitive

      There is no doubt that the immigration question admits of no easy solution. It is complex. But the military phrase given to the federal program "Operation Return to Sender" is an abomination.

      The usual reference for this phrase is mail, a thing. To employ these words in regard to human beings evinces a cruel insensitivity in whoever coined the phrase.

      Were my grandfather alive, he probably would consider himself to have "made it" in America.

      The Irish were at least compared to living beings: dogs.
