Center announces blood drives slated for August

Central Jersey Blood Center, Shrewsbury, has announced the following local blood drives:

+ Aug. 12 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m., a Jersey Shore Hogs drive at Harley Davidson, 671 Broadway, Long Branch

+ Aug. 17 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at First Interstate Financial, 39 Avenue of the Commons, Shrewsbury

+ Aug. 19 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at Bethel Christian Center, Catherine and River Streets, Red Bank

+ Aug. 26 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at Two River Theatre, 21 Bridge Ave., Red Bank

+ Aug. 28 from 11:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. at Acme, 1080 Route 35, Shrewsbury

The donation process takes about an hour. Donors must also complete a medical history interview and have a mini-physical (temperature, iron, pulse and blood pressure screening). Interested donors must be at least 17 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in good health. All donors must present signature ID at time of registration.
