The University of Delaware, Newark, announced the following local students who received degree during the spring commencement exercises:

Geneva Y. Livingston, Red Bank, a bachelor of science degree from the College of Health Sciences;

Jodi B. Slattery, Red Bank, a bachelor of science degree from the College of Health Sciences;

Bridget M. Henne, Fair Haven, a bachelor of science degree from Lerner College;

Ryan M. Ludwig, Tinton Falls, a bachelor of science degree from Lerner College;

Bradford W. Carlin, Little Silver, a bachelor of arts degree from the College of Arts and Sciences;

Jeffrey A. Wyrwa, Tinton Falls, a bachelor of arts degree from the College of Arts and Sciences; and

Katie Murray, Oceanport, a bachelor of science degree from Lerner College.

Megan Docherty, Rumson, has been named to the dean's list for the spring semester at Lynchburg (Va.) College, where she is a senior human development and learning major. A graduate of Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School, Rumson, she is the daughter of Trish and David Docherty.

Margaret M. Cahill, Tinton Falls, a junior psychology major at the College of Arts and Sciences;

Ryan M. Ludwig, Tinton Falls, a senior management major at the Lerner College of Business and Economics; and

Bradford W. Carlin, Little Silver, a senior communication major in the College of Arts and Sciences.

Daria Georgiyeva, Little Silver, recently received a Foreign Language Study Award at the annual awards banquet at Rider University, Lawrenceville, where she is a senior Spanish major. The awards are bestowed on language students for outstanding achievement in foreign language study.

The Public Administration

Institute of Fairleigh Dickinson University, Teaneck, recently inducted master of public administration students into Pi Alpha Alpha, the National Public Administration Honor Society. Inductees must complete at least 18 credits with a 3.7 or higher GPA. Local inductees are:

Vickie Philpot, Red Bank; and

Ekhelar Fidel, Tinton Falls.

Michelle Griffin, Oceanport, received a Gold Congressional Award at a ceremony at the U.S. Capitol, Washington, D.C., in late June. The award was presented by Congressman Rush Holt and John Falk, chairman of the board of the Congressional Award. The awards recognize initiative, achievement and service of young Americans for voluntary public service, personal development, physical fitness and expedition activities.
