Over the last three years, the charter school Playground Committee has been raising funds, including receiving a $5,000 grant from Lowe's Charitable and Education Foundation, in order to install a safe and age appropriate play area.

The committee raised more than $25,000 for the project, according to a press release from Marian Donohue, chairwoman of the committee.

"Initially," the release states, "the group purchased a much-needed bike rack for the school, along with a commercial grade basketball hoop and net."

The new play structure, which was installed by parents of charter school students last weekend in the play area behind the school, was designed by and purchased from Designed for Fun Inc., Pennsylvania, which also designed the playground at Rumson's Victory Park.
