Richard J. DiGiovanni

Mr. DiGiovanni, 52, of Tinton Falls and Highlands, died Sept. 14 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank, following a lengthy battle with cancer. Prior to relocating to the area, he resided in West Caldwell. He was an account executive at Food Associates Food Broker, Kearny. Prior to that, he was employed several years at Essex Fells Department of Public Works. He enjoyed fishing, and history. He was predeceased by his father, Vincent DiGiovanni. He is survived by his mother, Kathryn DiGiovanni of Tinton Falls; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Joseph DiGiovanni of Tinton Fells, Dr. Vincent and Betty DiGiovanni of Shavertown, Pa., and Robert and Theresa DiGiovanni of Verona; a sister and brothers-in-law, Janine and Bruno Girodon of Paris, France; and his companion of several years, Dawn Hartsgrove. A memorial Mass was celebrated at St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. Arrangements were by John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank. Emmi Giglio

Mrs. Giglio, 70, of Red Bank, died Sept. 17 at Arnold Walter Nursing Home, Holmdel. She was born and raised in Germany. She was a certified nurse's assistant at the Riverview Medical Center Hospice Unit, Red Bank, for 35 years, retiring in 2004. She is survived by four children, Carol of Atlantic Highlands, Joseph of Simpsonville, S.C., Peggy of Middletown, and Perry of Red Bank; two sisters, Margrit Bubbel and Crista Knofel, both of Germany; her former husband, Joseph of Holmdel; and four grandchildren. Visitation will be Sept. 22 from 10 a.m.-noon at Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank. A funeral service will follow at noon at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Riverview Medical Center Hospice Unit, 1 Riverview Plaza, Red Bank 07701.

Robert Douglas Bennett

Mr. Bennett, 56, of Freehold Township, died Sept. 11 at home. He worked in the home-building industry for many years, and was a 1973 graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University, Rutherford (with campuses now in Madison and Teaneck). Mr. Bennett was predeceased in March by his father, John "Pete" Bennett. Surviving are his mother, Helen Bennett of Freehold Township; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Ronald and Valerie Bennett of Jackson, Jeffrey and Janet Bennett of Ocean Township, and Scott Bennett of Freehold Township; two nieces, Megan and Cassie; and a nephew, Ryan. Funeral services were held at Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold Township.
