The Monmouth Rugby Football Club will be hosting the first annual Victoria Knight Macbeth Golf Outing on Oct. 16, at Bamm Hollow Country Club. The Monmouth Rugby Football Club was founded in 1973 and is nonprofit 501(c)3 corporation. The club is based in Red Bank and is a member of the Metropolitan Rugby Football Union. The club has over 150 members and 50-plus play on our men's, women's and masters teams. The club has been very successful over the past 30 plus years, including 15 Jersey Cup Championships, several Met Union Championships, three Division II Sweet 16 National Championship appearances and was ranked fifth in the nation in 1996. The club owns a clubhouse and rental properties in Red Bank and is a strong member of the Monmouth County community.

Tragically, the Victoria Knight Macbethclub lost one of its women's club members in March. Vicki passed away after a two-year battle with cancer. She was 33 years old and is survived by her husband, Bruce, and two young daughters, Harleigh, 5, and Kelsey, 3. Bruce and Vicki have been active members of the club since graduating Rutgers in 1994. Vicki also served as president of the Women's Rugby Club for two years. Both played on the Rutgers Rugby team in New Brunswick.

A Monmouth Women's Rec Basketball League will be held on Sunday nights, beginning Oct. 1 and running through March. Players must be 21 years old. All games played at the Salvation Army gym in Red Bank. Looking for teams and individual players. For more information, call (732) 213-8216 or e-mail MWSL2002@yahoo.com. Sportsmanship is the goal of the league.
