Roy J. Parrella

Mr. Parrella, 71, of Red Bank, died Oct. 14 at home. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he resided there prior to moving to Red Bank 15 months ago. He was a member of Local No. 79, Construction Laborers Union, New York City, retiring in 1994. He served with the U.S. Army from 1958-60. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Marie Russo Parrella; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Theresa Parrella of Middletown; a daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Charles Trentacosta; three brothers, Rocky Parrella of New Jersey, Frank Parrella of Shirley, N.Y., and Thomas Parrella of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and two sisters, Margaret Magnotta of Brick, and Celia Trappanese of Brooklyn.

Marvin L. Shapiro

Mr. Shapiro, 62, of West Palm Beach, Fla., died Oct. 1 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center Neptune. He resided in Jackson, prior to moving to Florida. He was employed in the automotive industry his entire life. He enjoyed golf. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Jeanne Shapiro; two sons and daughters-in-law, Martin and Debbie Shapiro of Freehold, and Louis and Nora Shapiro of Rumson; a daughter and son-in-law, Ellen and Frank Gonzalez of Tinton Falls; a sister, Myra Shapiro of Florida; and four grandchildren. Michael Buhler

Mr. Buhler, 63, of Tinton Falls, died Oct. 11 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Born in the Bronx, N.Y., he resided there prior to moving to Middletown two years ago. He was a private banker at Chase Manhattan Bank, New York City, the past 43 years. He served with the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Vested Vulchers at Chase Manhattan Bank. He is survived by his wife, Doris Gallagher Buhler; two sons, Michael C. Buhler of Tinton Falls, and William C. Buhler of Old Bridge; five sisters, Barbara Meehan, Patricia Buhler, Teresa Daus, Margaret Reiger and Alice Bushey; six brothers, Charles Buhler, Joseph Buhler, Raymond Buhler, Donald Buhler, Edward Buhler and Kenneth Buhler; a sister-in-law, Diane Camilleri; and several nieces and nephews. Interment was at Fair View Mausoleum, Middletown. Arrangements were by Day Funeral Home, Keyport.

Ronald "S Scooter" F. Sickler

Mr. Sickler, 82, of Oceanport, died Sept. 21 at home. He resided in Florida, prior to moving to Oceanport in 1964. He was an electrical at Local No. 400 IBEW, Wall, retiring in 1986. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. He enjoyed the water, travel, fishing, crabbing, and gardening. He was a founding member of the Monmouth Beach Car Toppers Association. He was predeceased by two daughters, Patricia Stoffan and Kathleen Roussell, in 1998. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Florence "Honey" Sickler; four sons and daughters-in-law, Duncan and Jean Sickler of Orange City, Fla.; Ronald John and Lynne Sickler of Oceanport; Robert and Andrea Sickler of North Long Branch; and Frank and Kathy Sickler of Toms River; a daughter and son-in-law, JoAnne Sickler and Jack Diehl of St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. A memorial service was held at United Methodist Church of Red Bank. Arrangements were by Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank. Harry Barbee Jr.

Mr. Barbee, 75, of Rumson and Captiva, Fla., died Oct. 12 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Raleigh, N.C., he resided in Westfield, and Orange, Va., prior to moving to Rumson. He was employed J.P. Morgan Bank, New York City, beginning in 1955, and retired as an executive vice president in 1990. He served as a 2nd lieutenant with the U.S. Army from 1951-53. He was a Rumson Borough Councilman from 1980-2000. He also served as a trustee at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch; director of Family & Children's Services, Oakhurst section of Ocean Township; and on the board of the New York Lung Association. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Noel Barbee; three sons, Thomas Barbee of Raleigh, N.C., Wayne Barbee of San Francisco, and Neil Barbee of Atlanta; a daughter, Amanda Barbee of Visalia, Calif.; and six grandchildren. A memorial service was held at Rumson Presbyterian Church. Arrangements were by Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank.

Edward F. Sause

Mr. Sause, 81, of Little Silver, died Oct. 8 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Bayonne, he resided in Little Silver the past 50 years. He was a self-employed financial investor in the Little Silver area. Prior to that, he was a general manager at Otis Elevator. He served with the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. An avid runner, he earned a bronze medal in the Melrose Games. He enjoyed the race track, and at one time was a breeder and horse owner. He is survived by his wife, Mary Marmora Sause; three daughters, Ronnie Lower of Little Silver, and Barbara and Susan Sause, both of Colts Neck; two granddaughters; and four great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. Interment was at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown. Arrangements were by Fiore Funeral Home, West Long Branch. Anne C. Dobrosky

Mrs. Dobrosky, 68, of Shrewsbury, died Oct.. 2 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. She resided in Fair Haven, prior to relocating to Shrewsbury. She was a registered nurse at Monmouth Medical Center for 32 years, retiring in 2003. She enjoyed gardening, handicrafts and the beach. She is survived by her husband of 48 years Paul; four daughters, Katherine Paschetto of Kennett Square, Pa.; Cheryl Paolone of Mount Sinai, N.Y.; Diane Davis of West Chester, Pa.; and Karen Parke of Shrewsbury; a brother, Paul of Philadelphia; and five grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. Interment was at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown. Arrangements were by Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank.
