Katrina Community Initiative to meet June 14

The Katrina Community Initiative will sponsor a mission work planning session for a trip scheduled for the Gulf Coast area June 14 at 7 p.m. at Pilgrim Baptist Church, 172 Shrewsbury Ave., Red Bank.

The Initiative has completed several phases to assist Gulf Coast families. Upcoming phases include a school supply drive in August, and mission work trip in November. Local community response partners are the Monmouth County Alumnae Chapter Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., and Second Baptist Church, Long Branch; and Calvary Baptist Church, Pilgrim Baptist Church, Red Bank Senior Center and St. Paul Baptist Church, all Red Bank.
