Charter school hires business administrator RED BANK - A new business administrator will be joining the Red Bank Charter School, segueing from her position as interim business administrator for the Red Bank Public School District. Dr. Roseann Lozinski will begin her part-time position with the charter school this month at the rate of $20,000 annually. "I had wanted to open my own special education charter school earlier in my career," she said at the July 26 meeting of the charter school board of trustees. "Education's at my heart, and I'm very happy to join this school." Lozinski, who has worked as a fourth-grade teacher, said she has been looking for a smaller, creative setting. "She knows the deal," said charter school Principal Meredith Pennotti at the board meeting, "from both sides of the aisle." Pennotti said that Lozinski was chosen because her focus as an educator is a good fit for the school. Other appointments made recently meeting include instructional staff to fill several positions open at the school. Elena Pamm was appointed to the position of adjunct social studies teacher for grades five through eight for $24,000 annually. "I'm really happy to be here," she said. Pennotti said that the adjunct pool has been expanded by two this year, and the adjuncts for the upper grades are chosen by their specialization in the content curriculum. "We're working on a new social studies curriculum this year," said Pennotti. "It's really an up-and-coming subject, with globalization and what's going on in the Middle East. We want the right team in place. We've looked hard for people who we think are a match to our mission and the beliefs of the school." Angela Perino was appointed to fill the position of adjunct language arts and literature teacher at the rate of $24,000 annually. Pennotti said that Perino was a good fit for the school because of her specialization in writing.
