Summer potpourri of artworks

"Gondola Duet" by Laury Egan
A sampler of the work of a half-dozen artists is on exhibit at The Frederick Gallery in Allenhurst.

"A Summer Exhibition of Works by Six Artists" will run through Sept. 2 at the gallery, located at 401 Spier Ave.

A reception will take place Saturday, Aug. 12, 5 -8 p.m.

Featured artists include Kathy Buist, New York and Asbury Park, whose exhibit, "Horizons," is a continuing show of new works in oils, pastels and encaustics.

"Summer Plein-Air" features oil paintings by Anthony Migliaccio, Long Branch.

"Still Motion and the Space Between" is an exhibit of new work in two series by Melissa Bronwen Pyle, Spring Lake. The first, oil on panel, the "Still Motion" series, infuses life into small flora with spontaneous and deliberate gestures of the fluid medium. The second, "The Space Between," suspends earthly abstractions and impressions in resin pointedly restating nature's role in the grounding of this artist.

"Multi-Colored Reality" by Jennie Meares
"Venice Revisited" is an exhibit of photography by Laury A. Egan, Highlands. The collection features 14 images of the city ranging from the luminous stillness of a gold mime to the brilliantly colored streets of Burano.

JAM Photography by Jennie A. Meares showcases inspired images with an unusual and whimsical perspective by the Matawan photographer. Her JAM signature has become a familiar sight in countless group and solo exhibitions.

"Elemental Architecture," photography by Claire Gallagher, views architecture as a convergence of elements: use/utility, climate, materials, culture, need, fantasy, optimism, structure, aesthetics, economics, concern for the public good, art, math, the science of building and community.

Hours at Frederick Gallery are Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and by appointment. For information, call (732) 531-9029.
