Michael Gormley was recently installed as president of the Red Bank Rotary. He has been a member for many years, serving in several different capacities, including as a member of the board. He is vice president, CFO and treasurer of Two River Community Bank, Middletown.

Celebrate creativity on Saturday, Aug. 19 when the Atlantic Highlands Historical Society hosts the 34th annual Arts and Crafts Festival, one of the longest running in the eastern New Jersey. The rain date is Sunday, Aug. 20. The event will include music provided by a disc jockey, food, a dance performance and a gift auction.

The Junior League of Monmouth County will hold an informational reception for prospective members on Tuesday, Aug. 22, from 7:30-9 p.m. at the Monmouth Museum on the campus of Brookdale Community College Campus in Lincroft. On Friday, Aug. 25, HABcore will sponsor its ninth annual gala, "A Night on the Navesink," at the Oyster Point Hotel in Red Bank. All proceeds from the event will benefit the programs and services of HABcore, an organization that serves people who are homeless in the greater Monmouth County area. The Navesink Garden Club will be celebrating its 60th anniversary with a Standard Flower Show on Sept. 13 from noon to 4 p.m. at Trinity Church Parish Hall on White Street, Red Bank. The event is open to the public and will include 50 horticulture classes and six design classes plus challenge class and educational exhibits.

Monmouth Reform Temple is hosting two open house nights, Sept. 5 and 7, from 6-8 p.m. at the temple, 332 Hance Ave., Tinton Falls. Prospective members will have the opportunity to tour the synagogue and meet Rabbi Jonathan Roos, Cantor Gabrielle Clissold and others.

The annual End of Summer Party for the Sandy Hook Foundation will be held on Friday, Sept. 8, at the North Beach Pavilion. The event raises money to support the programs and projects of the foundation including restoration and preservation projects. The party menu includes food from the Lusty Lobster, Bahrs Restaurant, Salt Creek Grille, the Sea Gull's Nest and American B&D Company. Live music provided by Daddy Pop. Sen. Joe Kyrillos has designated his district office as a collection point for Operation DVD, a nationwide campaign to collect movie DVDs and music CDs that will be sent to soldiers in war zones where safe recreation is limited because of snipers, IED's and other terrorist activity. Donations can be brought to his office at One Arin Park Building, 1715 Highway 35, Suite 303, Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Additional information about Operation DVD is available by contacting the district office at (732) 671-3206 or at www.operationdvd.us.

The Sisters of Mercy of New Jersey will host their 12th annual Golf Classic at the Navesink Country Club in Middletown, on Thursday, Sept. 14.

This year, a signed print by sports artist James Fiorentino called "Funny Cide," will be available for bid in the Silent Auction. There will be giveaways, the annual hole-in-one contest and raffles.

The fee per person is $350, or $1,400 for a foursome, which includes lunch and dinner reception. Proceeds of the event benefit the infirm and retired Mercy Sisters who have touched so many lives.

The day will begin with registration, a gourmet luncheon, shotgun start followed at the end of the day with a cocktail hour and dinner. The cost for the dinner is $75.
