Lunch break pasta dinner set for Sept. 16

Red Bank - Lunch Break, a nonprofit that feeds hungry children, families and seniors, will host a pasta dinner fundraiser on Saturday, Sept. 16, from 4-7 p.m.

For $10 per person, diners will enjoy a complete meal of spaghetti, meatballs, vegetables and garlic bread. Take-out service is available, and dinners can be preordered.

On a year-round basis, Lunch Break provides hot and bagged lunches, groceries, clothing, health screenings and referrals to local residents of all ages who are struggling with poverty.

Founded in 1983 as Monmouth County's first soup kitchen, Lunch Break operates a 3,000-square-foot community center in Red Bank on Drs. James Parker Boulevard. Funds raised will be used for some of the essential expenses of running Lunch Break's community center, including utilities, supplies and repairs.

To preorder pasta dinners for Sept. 16, call Lunch Break at (732) 747-8577. Dinners must be picked up at Lunch Break, Drs. James Parker Boulevard, on Sept. 16 between 4-7 p.m. During those hours on Sept. 16, Lunch Break is open to anyone who would enjoy a complete pasta dinner for just $10 per person.

Lunch Break's mission is to assist, in an atmosphere of dignity and concern, people who are unable to support themselves and their families. The soup kitchen is seeking energized members of the community to serve on its volunteer board of trustees.
