FRA walk and expo for people with disabilities The FRA PossAbilities Walk and TECH Expo is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 15, at The Atlantic Club in Manasquan. Since 1979, Family Resource Associates (FRA), Shrewsbury, has helped more than 10,000 area children with disabilities and has provided support and education for their families. Oct. 15 promises to be a fun, festive and family-oriented afternoon with music, dancing, face-painting, games and refreshments. As hundreds of children and adults with special needs cross the finish line of the one-mile walk (some on foot, some in wheelchairs or strollers) each one will be draped with a gold medal in celebration of their abilities and accomplishments. Jay Bowman, one of FRA's motivational dance instructors, will also be on-hand doing what he does best, getting everybody dancing. Whether hip-hop, freestyle or Latin dancing, he unleashes the dancer that hides in even the shyest wallflowers. In addition to the walk, The Atlantic Club is providing use of its fieldhouse for the TECHConnection Expo, which is free and open to the public from 12:30-4 p.m. The TECH Expo will feature computer stations equipped with samples of the most advanced assistive technology devices and software, offering hands-on exploration. To learn more about FRA and the TechConnection, visit their sister Web sites, www.frainc.org and www.techconnection.org or contact Linda S. Magill, director of development, at (732) 747-5310.
