Obituaries

Edward P. Daly

Mr. Daly, 82, of the Cliffwood Beach section of Old Bridge, died Oct. 18, 2006, at Regency Park Nursing Home, Hazlet. Born in Newark, he resided there before moving to Cliffwood Beach in 1951. Mr. Daly was a physical science technician and was awarded several patents while employed at Fort Monmouth for 32 years, retiring in 1979. Following retirement, he drove a school bus for Wooley's Bus Co. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a communicant of Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Union Beach. Mr. Daly was predeceased by two brothers, Joseph Daly and Frederick Daly. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Walbroel Daly; three daughters, Mary Bader of Rumson, Joan West of West Long Branch, and Patricia Daly of Matawan; two sons, Edward R. Daly of the Avenel section of Woodbridge, and Richard J. Daly of Howell; and eight grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Holy Family Church, followed by entombment at Holmdel Mausoleum. Day Funeral Home, Keyport, was in charge of arrangements.

Genevieve R. Poling Barrett

Mrs. Barrett, 86, of Keyport, died Sept. 7, 2006, at home. Born in Keyport, she was lifelong resident. She was a homemaker. She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Keyport. She was predeceased by her husband, Eugene E. Barrett; a son, Eugene W. Barrett; and two brothers, William Poling and Stanley Poling. She is survived by two sons, James Barrett of Athens, Tenn., and William Barrett of San Jose, Calif.; five daughters, Judith Wolf of Rumson, Susan Grzyb of Little Egg Harbor, Carol Riley of Florence, Genevieve Bagnell of the Monmouth Junction section of South Brunswick, and Marian Barrett of Keyport; a sister, Adele Wheatley of Lakehurst; 16 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Joseph's Church, with entombment at St. Joseph's Mausoleum, Keyport. Arrangements were by Day Funeral Home, Keyport.
