***** St. John's Episcopal Church, 325 Little Silver Point Road, will host a flu clinic Saturday, Nov. 11, from 9 a.m. to noon, provided by the Visiting Nurse Association of Central Jersey. The flu vaccination is $30, and the pneumonia vaccination $40. Medicare Part B, cash or check will be accepted. No HMOs. The lunch menu will include shepherd's pie, turkey Waldorf salad, and roasted butternut squash soup. ***** Concerned Persons for Adoption (CPFA) will sponsor the 25th annual Let's Talk Adoption Conference on Saturday, Nov. 4. The day-long conference features workshops for pre- and post-adoptive parents, social workers, teachers and adoptees. The event will take place at Rutgers University, Busch Campus Center, Piscataway. The cost for the full-day conference is $40 per person, $70 per couple, and $20 for full-time students. Rape care advocates are members of the Monmouth County Sexual Assault Response Team and volunteer their time helping victims in crisis. An intensive training program will be held on Saturdays from Jan. 6 through Feb. 10 and will include information on sexual assault awareness, crisis intervention, hot line counseling, the medical/legal/emotional needs of a sexual assault survivor, and the criminal justice system in relation to sexual assault.
