"The Meeting," a dramatization of what may have happened if Malcolm X and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. had met before they were assassinated just three months apart, will be presented Jan. 14 at 4 p.m. in the Unitarian Universalist Meetinghouse, 1475 W. Front St., Lincroft.
The drama and discussion will be presented by the Dunbar Repertory Company. Currently in its 19th season, the company continues to fulfill its mission of presenting theater that speaks not only to the African American community, but to the community at large.
The program is sponsored by the Allen Project, the Monmouth Center for World Religions and Ethical Thought and the Social Action Ministry of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Monmouth County. Free-will donations will be appreciated.

The Junior League of Monmouth County (JLMC) will host the second annual Spring Market, a two-day shopping extravaganza at the Sheraton Hotel in Eatontown on March 2 and 3. The event will feature 50 premier vendors selling boutique items. Shopping hours are Friday, 3-7 p.m. and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $5 in advance and $8 at the door.
Portions of the proceeds will support JLMC community programs, including Superstars Literacy, an after-school enrichment program involving elementary school students and their parents. For information, contact the JLMC at (732) 842-2039 or visit www.jlmc.org.

The League of Women Voters-Greater Red Bank Area held its annual "Lunch With the Board" in December at Charlie Brown's Steak House in Tinton Falls. Members were treated to a timely presentation on global warming and its impact on the Jersey Shore by guest speaker Jon Plaut.
LWV member Dr. Judy Kramer has been accepted into the training program started by former Vice President Al Gore and The Climate Project to be one of the 1,000 environmental activists being trained to get out locally and spread the word. Monmouth University in West Long Branch is extending an invitation to alumni from the 1982 class to join the college's commencement on May 16. Participants will wear a silver cap and gown to celebrate their 25th anniversary and lead the class of 2007 commencement procession at the PNC Bank Arts Center. Monmouth Park Superintendent Dave Harrington died Dec. 29 after a lengthy battle with cancer. In honor of Harrington, a "Celebration of Life" was held at his home in Fort McCoy, Fla., Jan. 6. Harrington's family asked that donations be sent to the American Cancer Society.

On Jan. 12, 7-11 a.m., and 3-7 p.m., The Ultimate Eye Candy, an online social networking community for New Jersey residents, will sponsor a "casting call" at the Red Bank train station. People will be asked what their favorite eye candy is and the responses will form the basis of an interactive online reality game show starring Stephanie LaGrossa, the local personality from CBS' "Survivor" TV show and a New Jersey resident.

The Monmouth County Audubon Society will host a bird walk on Sandy Hook Feb. 10. The free walk will be led by accomplished birders familiar with Sandy Hook and its birds. Participants will meet at 9 a.m. in the parking lot of the Sandy Hook Visitors Center.
On Feb. 14 at 8 p.m. Princeton University Professor Martin Wikelski will present a program titled "Songbird Migration: Tracking Individual Birds Between Continents" at the Audubon Society meeting.
