      Cox brothers are happy to be teammates
      Twins to lead Golden Falcons at State Relays
            Sprinters can't be blamed if they are seeing double this winter.That's because the Cox twins, Charles and Chris, will be teammates again. Instead of racing against each other like they have the past two years, the Cox twins have joined forces at Monmouth Regional High School, making a school with a rich tradition of sprinting even stronger. Scary, in fact.

      RBC boys one of Shore's nicest surprises
            Picked to finish at or near the bottom of the Shore Conference's loaded Class A Central division, the Red Bank Catholic boys basketball team has already proved to be better than anticipated. Head coach Joe Nappo's squad has raced out to a 6-3 mark early on, and has been competitive in two out of its three losses to some of the Shore's elite teams.

      Don't look now, but here come the Colts
            The Christian Brothers Academy basketball team found itself in a rather unfamiliar position coming into this week. The Colts, a perennial Shore Conference and state powerhouse that lost only two games last season and just five the past two years, took a 6-3 record into Monday's game at Marlboro.

      Local fishing prospects looking good for 2007
            Who would have thought 2006 would be one of the best years on record for bass fishing for the New Jersey angler, with 2007 already looking to be an even better year? Having fished the Raritan Bay for over 35 years (and my father for over 55 years), I can say with confidence that the Raritan Bay has produced some of the best bay fishing on the East Coast.

      Kuehl ranked sixth in country in discus
            Former Monmouth Regional great Adam Kuehl is ranked No. 6 in the country in the men's discus by Track and Field News. Now a junior at the University of Arizona, Kuehl was runner-up at the NCAA Championships and seventh at the U.S. nationals. His top throw of 2006 was 209-7 - No. 26 on the world list.

            The Battle of Monmouth Falcons, a Premier U17 girls team, seeks field players. The team will compete in state cup and showcase tournaments. Contact Coach Craig at (732) 521-0282 or via e-mail at thesixtees@aol.com. The Monmouth Women's Softball League is looking for teams and players for the 2007 season. Players must be 18 years old. Season runs from April-August.
