      Roth heads to Torino to complete her comeback
      Brookdale student to compete at World University Games
            With the World University Games being held this week in Torino, Italy, Brookdale Community College is well represented. Belmar's Stephanie Roth, a 24-year-old journalism student at the Lincroft school, is in Torino to compete in the Ladies Individual Figure Skating event against approximately 30 other skaters from all over the world.

      Monmouth (2), Ocean golden at state relays
            In their first state championships as Monmouth Regional teammates, twin brothers Charles and Chris Cox did not disappoint. The seniors delivered on their potential Sunday at the NJSIAA State Group Relays, teaming up to win a pair of Group II championships for the Golden Falcons at the Jersey City Armory.

      Ocean teams look to be better than second best
            After taking second at the recent Monmouth County Championships, both the Ocean Township boys and girls swim teams are hoping to move up a notch at the upcoming Shore Conference meet. Both teams are putting together near-perfect dual-meet seasons at the midway point, and with the postseason quickly approaching, are preparing to make runs at some hardware.

      Brookdale demoralizing teams with their three-point shooting
            That the three-point shot is a major part of Brookdale Community College's women's basketball team is not a surprise in and of itself. What has teams in a state of confusion on the hardwood is who is putting up those long-range shots - their 6-0 forwards.

      Fish On
      Warm weather means plenty of fish around
            "Fish On!! Fish On!!" - that's what New Jersey anglers are saying after taking advantage of the unusually warm weather this weekend. Striped bass fishing was exceptionally good, as anglers were picking bass right from the surf in Sandy Hook and a good number of bass were released along the surf. Once again the white storm shad produced most of the action.
