Teen Arts Competition winners announced
Untitled by Danielle Sobol (Wall High School) The Monmouth Festival of the Arts hosted its annual Student Art Competition and Portfolio Presentation Jan. 28, at Monmouth Reform Temple, 332 Hance Ave., Tinton Falls.
The art competition was open to 11th-graders in schools throughout Monmouth County.
Winners received first-, second- and third-place prizes of $100, $75 and $50 at a reception Sunday. In addition, their works will be displayed at the 37th Annual Monmouth Festival of the Arts March 24 - 28.
Sarah Gerth, Red Bank Regional High School, was awarded first place for her charcoal "Self Portrait." Olivia Frassinelli, Henry Hudson Regional High School, was awarded second place for her untitled pencil drawing; and Danielle Sobol, Wall High School, was awarded third place, for an untitled chalk still life.
Honorable mentions went to Sarah Cohen, Colts Neck High School; Kacie Manzo, Manalapan High School; Serena Rabinowitz, Ranney School; and Danielle Sobol and Eden Horton, Wall High School.
