IAMA to hold dinner, trip to Atlantic City

The Italian American Memorial Association (IAMA), 195 Brighton Ave., Long Branch, will hold a spaghetti dinner Feb. 23 from 5-7:30 p.m., and the last Friday of each month. Cost is $7, $6 for seniors, $3 for children age 4-12, and free for children age 3 and younger. The menu will be "all you can eat" spaghetti dinner with homemade meatballs, and a surprise specialty pasta. The IAMA's Ladies Auxiliary will hold a bus trip to Showboat Casino, Atlantic City, March 10 from 2-11 p.m. Cost is $25 with a $22 coin redemption, and $5 food coupon. The bus will depart the IAMA. Celebration of leaders in black history Feb. 28

The Community YMCA Black Achievers program, Red Bank, will celebrate leaders in black history at an event Feb. 28 from 6:30-8 p.m. at the Children's Cultural Center, 51 Monmouth St., Red Bank.

Keynote speaker will be former Attorney General of New Jersey, Peter C. Harvey. The event will also feature projects and readings by teen students in the Black Achievers program. The initiative is a program for students in grades six through 12 that focuses on character development, educational success and introducing youth to positive role models.

RBR benefit for Broadway Cares

Red Bank Regional Theatre Company will present two benefit performances of Shakespeare's comedy "Twelfth Night" Friday, Feb. 16, and Saturday, Feb. 17, at 7:30 p.m. at the Baronet Theater, 4th Avenue in Asbury Park.

The performances will benefit Broadway Cares Equity Fights AIDS.

Republicans' Lincoln Day dinner set for Feb. 19

The Monmouth County Republican Party will present the 44th annual Lincoln Day dinner Feb. 19 at 6 p.m. at Addison Park, Route 35, Aberdeen.

Guest speaker will be Tagg Romney, son of former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and senior adviser to the Mitt Romney for President Exploratory Committee.

The event will feature a cocktail hour, hors d'oeuvres and serving stations. Candidates will also be in attendance. Tickets are $45 per person.

Health fair at Monmouth Reform Temple Feb. 18

Monmouth Reform Temple, 332 Hance Ave., Tinton Falls, will hold a health fair Feb. 18 from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Specialists such as a dermatologist, internist and cardiologist will be on hand to answer questions. There will also be blood pressure checks, skin cancer checks, glaucoma screenings and other tests offered.
