      Volunteer advocates sought for DVRT

      180-Turning Lives Around, Hazlet, is seeking volunteers for its domestic violence crisis response teams (DVRT), with the 40-hour mandatory training beginning June 4.

      Volunteer advocates work in conjunction with the police to provide support, information, and referrals to victims of domestic violence at police headquarters. Applicants must 18 or older, have access to transportation, possess a valid driver's license, be willing to serve on an on-call shift basis, and submit to background investigations and fingerprinting. Training will be Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings June 4-27 at a location in Monmouth County.
