The 15th annual Rumson-Fair Haven Run will be held May 6 beginning at the Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School Borden Stadium. The event includes a 5-mile run, a 3K and kiddie dashes. The Center for Vocational Rehabilitation will host a free job fair for the public on Wednesday, April 11, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at its headquarters at 15 Meridian Road in Eatontown. Participating employers include Commerce Bank, ShopRite, Amboy National Bank, Foodtown and others. The job fair is co-sponsored by the Monmouth County Workforce Investment Board, Ladacin Network and The United Way of Monmouth County. The Shrewsbury Environmental Commission has organized a computer and electronic recycling drive for Shrewsbury residents only in celebration of Earth Day on April 21 between 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Shrewsbury Borough Hall on Sycamore Avenue. They will accept anything with a plug that can be carried, i.e., computer components, televisions, cell phones, microwaves, air-conditioning units, VCRs, etc.

Local interior designers are in the process of transforming Rumson's Scothigh Farm into the Stately Homes By-the-Sea Designer Showhouse, a fundraiser for the Visiting Nurse Association of Central Jersey, Red Bank.
The 11,000-square-foot colonial revival house at 142 Bingham Ave. will be open to the public Tuesday through Sunday, May 1-31, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The David Burke Fromagerie Showhouse Café will be open Tuesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. A boutique will also be open on the grounds.
Showhouse tickets are $35 at the door, $25 in advance and $20 for seniors. Tickets may be purchased online at www.statelyhomesbythesea.com or by calling the VNACJ special events office at (732) 224-6791.

The public is invited to the eighth annual Shanti Peace Lecture, sponsored by the Monmouth Center for World Religion and Ethical Thought, Sunday, April 29, at 4 p.m., at the Unitarian Universalist Meeting House, 1475 W. Front St., Lincroft.
This year's speakers are Dr. Dan Bar-on and Dr. Sami Adwan, whose topic will be "In Search of Peace: Palestinian and Israeli Learning Each Other's Historical Narratives." Drs. Bar-on and Adwan are co-directors of the Peace Research Institute in the Middle East and currently Fulbright Scholars at Monmouth University, West Long Branch.
Dr. Bar-on is a professor of psychology at Ben-Gurion University in Israel. Dr. Adwan serves on the Faculty of Education at Bethlehem University, Israel.

Fair Haven Cub Scout Pack No. 127 is sponsoring the fourth annual Pancake Breakfast fundraiser for breast cancer Sunday, April 22, 8 a.m. to noon at the Fair Haven Firehouse on River Road. The cost is $7 per adult and $5 per child. For more information, call (732) 576-1798.
Last year, the breakfast raised over $14,000 for breast cancer research. This year, once again, all proceeds will go to the Walsh Family Charitable Foundation for Breast Cancer Research, an organization that supports a variety of breast cancer causes.
