Park System's raku classes begin June 13

The Monmouth County Park System will present "Steve Jaskowak: Raku Seminar" June 13 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

Additional sessions will be July 25 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m., and Aug. 18 from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. The seminar led by Steve Jaskowak is designed for all levels of potters and will teach processes such as horse-hair firing, and slip resists. Cost is $65, and attendees should bring pre-bisqued items (no plates).

A raku workshop will be June 23 from 3-6:30 p.m., with additional sessions July 16 and 23 from 6:30-10:30 p.m. Cost is $45 per session, and attendees should bring modest-sized bisque fired pieces. "Raku Intensive" will be Tuesdays July 10-31 from 1-4:30 p.m. Each week focuses on a different type of glaze. Cost is $140.
