'Ethics of Public Service' at BCC June 15
      Assemblywoman Amy Handlin (R-13) and Brookdale Community College (BCC) will co-host "The Ethics of Public Service - A Training for 13th District Municipal Officials" June 15 from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. The training will be in room 105 at the main academic north (MAN) building, 765 Newman Springs Road, Lincroft section of Middletown.

      Stacy Gemma and SG2 in The Grove in Shrewsbury held an Ice Cream Social June 2 and raised more than $1,000 to help with medical expenses incurred by the family of Jake Healy of Ocean Township. The 11-year-old is waging an ongoing battle with leukemia. SG2 arranged to have an ice cream truck for the day and all ice cream purchases directly benefited Jake and the Healy family.

'Learn to Swim' courses begin at Y June 18
      The Community YMCA Family Health and Fitness Center, 166 Maple Ave., Red Bank, will offer "Learn to Swim" week June 18-23 for children age 3-17. The water safety lessons are designed as a community outreach program for non-swimmers who aren't members of the Y. Courses for children age 3-5 and 6-17 will be offered June 18-22 from 10:30-11 a.m., 3:30-4 p.m., 4-4:30 p.m.

Sheehan Classic race set for this weekend
      RED BANK - The George Sheehan Classic 5 Mile Run is set to go off at 8:30 a.m. Saturday. More than 3,000 runners from around the world are expected to participate in what has become one of the Jersey Shore's most popular road races.
